The Alumni Association is a sort of self-selected, ad hoc committee, from what I can see of it. About a decade and a half ago, in 1985 or so, a group of us got together in Pound Ridge, at Anne Schoales' house, for a sort of a reunion of classes mostly from the sixties. A great time was had by all - or at least I thought so - but the event has not been repeated.
In the meantime, I have had messages (and even a "Scarborough 2000" baseball cap) from a group of alumni mostly from the 40s and 50s who have been meeting and keeping in touch. I have sent my address to them and occasional dues payments, but haven't made any of their gatherings. But I am on the mailing list, so I'll post here what I know about events in the future
The most recent event was the just-passed August 2005 reunion, held in Hurley
NY on August 6.
Norm Lebhar and Bob Dunscombe organized it and it was
a delightful, relaxed, interesting afternoon in the beautiful setting of Norm's
home, Gedney Farm. Bob and Norm (together with Norm's wife, who unfortunately
couldn't be present due to a family emergency) deserve a great deal of credit
for doing all the work to make it possible
I couldn't attend the Sunday
Boat Ride on the Hudson, but I hope those who did (and others who may be interested)
are already talking about another get-together in a year or two. I'll find out
and keep this web-site updated.
EXTRA! EXTRA!
It can now be confirmed - there is a reunion planned for all those who will attend, at the home of Anne Schoales Thom in Pound Ridge New York, on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Annie and Dorry Swope are doing the bulk of the planning, and their only request is that those who want to attend will RSVP them as early as possible so that they can make plans.
